Brooklyn, New York native, Monique Jackson has always had a vision . She seeks to develop her craft as a natural hair stylist, to teach and motivate her students and peers alike and to equip them with the knowledge and tools for success in the beauty industry.
Driven to lead her life as an example for others to follow, Monique is constantly developing her craft as a natural hair stylist wherever that may take her. This journey brought her to Pittsburgh in 2009, a move that pushed her, but provided space for growth.
Here, Monique’s decade-long career as a stylist began. At Matrix Concept Salon, she would go on to become a Master Stylist, sharing her art and cutting her teeth at a number of East Coast salons. Her love for education on the health and anatomy of hair led her to further her natural hair styling with licensure as a Cosmetology Educator.
Once licensed, Monique taught cosmetology for Pittsburgh Public School, Empire Beauty Group and Arrojo Cosmetology. Her work in Pennsylvania culminated as a hair stylist for the Pittsburgh Steelers and numerous designers at New York Fashion Week.
After a relocation to Orlando in 2016, Monique is now the Lead Educator and Master Stylist at Treasuring Tresses' Altamonte Springs hair salon. Actively licensed in three states: Pennsylvania, New York and Florida, Monique maintains a freedom that allows her to travel, educating her fellow natural hair stylists and expanding her working knowledge of the beauty industry with every stop while centered at her Altamonte Springs natural hair salon.
We make every attempt to ensure that you are satisfied with your experience at Treasuring Tresses. In the event that you are not completely satisfied, please let us know at the time of your service or within 48 hours after your service has been performed.
All services are non-refundable but we will be more than happy to schedule a corrective service free of charge. The service must be a mistake from your stylist not something you might have changed your mind about after the service was performed. Customers have 48 hours to contact the salon to receive a complementary service to discuss any dissatisfaction. Corrective services will not be allowed five days after the initial service date.
Treasuring Tresses has the right to refuse service to anyone demonstrating inappropriate behavior to any member of our staff members or customers/clients.
Please be gracious to your stylist and fellow clients by arriving on time to your scheduled appointment. Please notify your stylist if will be more than 15 minutes late for your appointment. There will be a $25 fee imposed for late arrivals. Clients arriving more than 20 minutes late for their appointment will forfeit the original scheduled appointment and may have to reschedule for a later date.
We understand that sometimes you may need to cancel or change your scheduled appointment. In order to respect the time of both our clients and our staff, we kindly asks that you notify us if you need to cancel or reschedule your service at least 24 hours prior to your appointment time. Should you need to cancel your appointment less than 24 hours prior to the scheduled service, you will be charged a $50 fee. All “no-shows” or same day cancellations will be charged 100% of the original services booked. Appointments may be reschedule one time only. This policy ensures that stylists have ample time to fill the appointment slot in the event of a cancellation.
A 35% non-refundable deposit is required for all appointments at the time of scheduling, which goes towards the service balance. Should you need to reschedule, or change services the deposit will be applied to the new appointment or services.
Cash is accepted. We accept all major credit cards with a Visa or Mastercard logo along with American Express and Discover cards. However, there is an additional 3.5% processing/service fee to use any of these cards. Personal checks are not accepted and we do not give cash back on credit/debit cards.
Please let our team know if you have any allergies, are pregnant or taking any medications.
We only use pre-stretched, antibacterial, 100% Kanekalon hair for braided styles due to the harsh chemicals found in other brands of kanekalon hair. Our suggested brands are: Xpressions and FreeTress. All other types of kanekalon hair will be refused.
For Crochet styles, FreeTress or Janet Collection are the recommended brands for hair.
